Road Safety Awareness Campaign
Program Objective
Road safety is an issue that affects everyone in India. With increasing traffic, lack of awareness about traffic rules and negligent driving behavior, road accidents continue to cause serious human and economic losses.
Under the Sadak Suraksha initiative, YBDS conducts road safety awareness campaigns to educate school students, youth, drivers, pedestrians, and the general public regarding safe road usage and traffic discipline.
Awareness campaigns are a key public-safety intervention and are widely used during National Road Safety Month across India.
Awareness Modules
The campaign includes awareness on traffic lights, zebra crossing use, speed limits, helmet use, seat belt safety, no mobile phone while driving, and safe pedestrian behavior.
Special sessions are conducted for children and youth on road-crossing safety and accident prevention.
Implementation Strategy
The campaign is organized through schools, colleges, public awareness rallies, traffic signal points, community sessions, and safety workshops.
